STC Incorporated and Holds First Formal Meeting
The Semicomnuctor Test Consortium held its first meeting after Incorporation April 22-23, 2003
The Semiconductor Test Consortium held it first meeting after being formally Incorporated as a non-profit California Corporation. Philips Semiconductor hosted the meeting April 22-23, 2003 at their facilities in San Jose. Over 25 people representing 15 companies in the Semiconductor Test Industry attended. Intel, Motorola and Advantest were the initial Incorporators. The By-laws and Membership agreement were reviewed and initial officers were introduced. The bulk of the meeting was spent reviewing the Rev 0.0 of the OPENSTARä architecture specification and discussed. As this is very early in the process, many items were tabled and referred to technical committees. Technical sub-committees were formed to handle these issues. The group selected some temporary chairmen for each sub-group who will hold initial meetings for their sub-group within a month, and additional meetings as necessary. They will report progress at the next meeting. A call for participation will be put out to the entire membership, including outreach to the entire industry, to ask for help in further defining this architecture to make it a truly open standard. A repeat of this meeting, introducing the Semiconductor Test Consortium as a formal Corporation and reviewing the Rev 0.0 OPENSTAR specification will be held in Tokyo May 28 for interested Japanese companies hosted by Advantest. The next general meeting of the Semiconductor Test Consortium will be held Tuesday, July 15, 2003, hosted by Intel in San Jose, followed by a public Press Event that evening.
