LEADING DEVICE MAKERS, MODULE SUPPLIERS AND ACADEMIA JOIN THE STC

Top 11 logic device makers now committed to the STC's effort to lower the cost of test

SAN DIEGO, Calif., April 19, 2004 — The Semiconductor Test Consortium (STC), Inc. today announced the continued expansion of its international roster. Leading industry device makers Analog Devices, Fujitsu, Philips Semiconductor, Renesas and Toshiba have joined founders Intel and Motorola as members of the consortium. In addition, Acqiris SA, AeroFlex, ARTEST, Molex Japan, Port Orford Co., Tensolite, Tokyo Cathode Lab, Tokyo Electron, TSK, Tyco Electronics and Xandex have dramatically increased the STC’s roster of ATE vendor members. Professors from leading educational institutions in Japan, China, Europe and the United States have joined the STC, bolstering academia's participation and bringing the STC’s overall membership to 11 professors and 25 companies.

Overwhelming participation from the global leaders of the semiconductor industry is a key objective of the STC. These newest members will broaden the collaborative effort of existing members and further the STC’s development of the OPENSTAR™ (Open Semiconductor Test Architecture) highly flexible and cost-effective test platform. Founding members of the consortium include Advantest Corp., Guide Technology, Inc., Inovys Corp., Intel Corp., Motorola, Inc., Pragmatics Technologies, Inc., Racal Instruments, Roos Instruments, Inc., StarGen, Inc., and Wavecrest Corp.
